The institute emphasizes scientific research. It promotes its development and combination of production and study through technology exploitation and service. Teachers' practical and creative ability and the quality of talents are improved at the same time. Currently, the institute has six technology research and service departments which organize activities among teachers with the help of teaching and research section.
1.Material and Mould Research Centre. It mainly covers the research of the property of metal material and plastic material and the design, sample making, maintenance, and installation of various moulds.
2.Mechanical and Electrical Technology Research Centre. It mainly covers the automatic production in enterprises, the design, installation, testing and maintenance of automatic transportation equipment in mines, and the numerical control processing programs and related technological services.
